What the Amazon image checker checks

This tool reads image dimensions, file weight and format in your browser. It compares the longest side with Amazon's listed pixel range. It is not an upload acceptance test: it does not inspect the garment, background, product framing, DPI, colour profile, animation or required metadata.

Pixel limits are different from zoom guidance

The listed range is 500–10,000 pixels on the longest side. Amazon's current Seller Central guide recommends 1,000px+ on the longest side for zoom. A portrait or landscape image is not rejected here merely because it is not square.

File formats and browser limits

Amazon lists JPEG, TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF. Some browsers cannot decode TIFF, even though Amazon lists it. Export a JPEG copy to use this checker if needed. We have not verified a universal byte cap for every upload method, so file weight is shown for review rather than treated as a fixed rejection limit.

Clothing and AI-person review

Amazon's US guide calls for a model for adult-size clothing MAIN images and flat images for clothing accessories or multipacks. Do not assume a ghost mannequin output meets every category rule. Images of photorealistic people generated entirely by AI need the contains-synthetic-performer keyword in XMP dc:subject under Amazon's guidance. This tool does not add or inspect that tag.

Use the Amazon photography workflow for the manual content review. A warning means a review is still needed, even when the checked file properties are within range.

A+ Content is separate

Use the dimensions shown for the selected module in A+ Content Manager. The product-listing checker does not validate A+ banners or modules.

Frequently Asked Questions

What image size does Amazon require?

Amazon's US Seller Central guide lists 500–10,000 pixels on the longest side. It recommends 1,000px or more on the longest side for zoom. These checks do not establish that the image content meets the category rules.

Does Amazon require square images?

The cited guide gives longest-side limits, not a square-only rule. Keep the product's proportions when preparing a portrait, landscape or square file. Review the framing and category instructions separately.

Can this checker approve clothing images?

Check the category before choosing the main image. Amazon's US guide calls for a model for adult-size clothing and flat presentation for clothing accessories and multipacks. Ghost mannequin photography is not blanket approval for every MAIN slot. It is not an upload acceptance test.

Why can my browser not open a TIFF?

Amazon lists JPEG, TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF, with JPEG recommended. A browser may not decode every listed format. The checker does not inspect animation, colour profiles, resolution metadata or all encoding settings.

Does this checker validate A+ Content?

No. Select the A+ Content module and follow the dimensions shown in its editor. Product-listing image dimensions are not a universal A+ specification.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

The checker reads the image locally in your browser and does not upload the image file. Site analytics can record file properties and checker results. It does not upload to Amazon or change your listing.
